ARTIST STATEMENT

Helen O’Sullivan (b. 1995) is an Irish artist from Wicklow, currently based in Dublin. She holds a BA in Fine Art Print, First Class Honours with Distinction, from the National College of Art & Design and is a member of Graphic Studio Dublin, where her practice focuses on printmaking.

O’Sullivan’s work explores time, memory, and cyclical rhythms through repetition and reduction. Working primarily in printmaking and drawing, she employs grids and line structures to create quiet, contemplative works that unfold slowly through colour and material nuance.

The act of repetition in her practice is both meditative and deliberate, a way of marking time, finding rhythm, and seeking clarity. In this process, attention itself becomes a form of listening, inviting stillness and introspection. Through these reductive gestures, O’Sullivan seeks simplicity and balance. Like breathing or the steady passing of days, her repeated marks offer viewers a space for reflection and pause.
